Can Louisiana’s political landscape really change?

Louisiana politics must change. Whether you agree or disagree with my political positions is not important; that we all become involved in the process is the critical issue at hand. One person’s efforts can’t reinvent politics but it can help get the dialog going, stir up interest and hopefully get people voting. Taxpayers must carefully evaluate elected officials; otherwise we are doomed for more of the same.

We can’t better our political lot if we don’t vote!

We can’t better our political lot if we don’t use democracy the way it was intended - with open discussions of the important issues at hand.

To elected officials, voter apathy means less accountability. That’s bad for Louisiana.

Louisiana is truly at a crossroads in its political and economic future. Now more than ever we must challenge the status quo with open dialog and show action on Election Day.

Why so outspoken on political issues?

At 67, I’ve seen a lifetime of inept and over promising politicians. They say they’ll give us the moon but so many end up ineffective or working the system for their own personal benefit.

Abraham Lincoln said, “Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power.”

We have too many elected officials who don’t understand they’re supposed to be public servants. We must demand more.

I could leave politics to the politicians, having more time with my family and enjoying Louisiana’s great outdoors. I would make more friends that way (certainly would have fewer adversaries) but it would not be true to my heart.

Is your political involvement an attempt to help your business?

As people try to make sense of why I am so passionate about politics and often approach it in unorthodox ways, they assume I have a hidden agenda.

The company I founded is run by professionals. They do not need political favors to get ahead in business.

My goal is about keeping our elected officials honest and making Louisiana a place my grandchildren will never leave. It’s easy to assign a secret motivation to my actions but plain and simple, this is my attempt to elect better public officials.

Do you support Republicans or Democrats?

I support both. Although my beliefs are more closely aligned with the GOP, I lend support to the best candidate for Louisiana regardless of political affiliation.
